There are 22 professions in Ashes of Creation that are divided into three artisan classes: gathering, processing and crafting.
All professions starts at Novice level and can be leveled up to reach Apprentice, Journeyman, Master and Grandmaster.
You can only be a Grandmaster of two professions at a time, a Master of three, a Journeyman of four and an Apprentice of five.
Reaching a Grandmaster level means that you also are a Master, a Journeyman and an Apprentice of that profession.
This means that you need to choose wisely which professions you want to level up.

Some professions are more related to each other than others because they share similar resources.
For example, if you are a Grandmaster in Mining, you will find easier to become a Grandmaster in Metalworking.
And if you are a Grandmaster in Metalworking, you will find easier to become a Grandmaster in Armor Smithing.
